Martin Ennals Award finalist Nabeel Rajab released from prison

In April, finalists and laureates of the Martin Ennals Award called for the release of imprisoned human rights defenders facing serious risks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of those HRDs from Bahrain was released from prison on June 9.

Supporting women human rights defenders in Afghanistan

One of NHRF's grantee partners, the Safety and Risk Mitigation Organization (SRMO), works to support and defend the human rights and the legitimate role of women human rights defenders (W/HRDs) in Afghanistan. The team provides critical relief and support to W/HRDs at risk and those in immediate danger.
