Human Rights Due Diligence
The Norwegian Transparency Act aims to promote respect for human rights and decent working conditions by requiring organisations to carry out human rights due diligence (HRDD) assessments and be transparent about how they address risks and impacts.
The Norwegian Human Rights Fund is a non-profit organisation that provides financial support to local human rights organizations and human rights defenders who work to protect and promote human rights. Although the NHRF formally meets only one of the Act’s threshold criteria, we are committed to its principles. We conduct human rights due diligence in line with the Transparency Act and the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct, and report on our efforts in accordance with §5 in the Act. We do this because transparency, accountability, and responsible partnerships are fundamental to our mission, and to ensuring that our work contributes to positive human rights outcomes.
