From the Norwegian Human Rights Fund we would like to congratulate all the nominees, especially the Committee for Solidarity with Political Prisoners and the Nydia Erika Bautista Foundation, which is dedicated to the search for missing persons in the eastern lowlands of Colombia. Both are organizations that are part of the partners we support in Colombia and we believe that this recognition is another opportunity to make visible the work they have been doing for peacebuilding in Colombia.
This is the ninth edition of this award that rewards, through different categories, the work of those people and organizations that are dedicated to the defense of human rights. The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 2 December, and will be available online through the National Human Rights Award of Colombia social media.
Diakonia, the organization that promotes these awards, seeks to change the conditions and causes of poverty and inequality and works to build a life free of violence and with dignity for the communities in the countries where they are present.
